Spotted Flycatcher Sighting at Warnham Local Nature Reserve

During a visit to Warnham Local Nature Reserve today, I had the delightful experience of observing a Spotted Flycatcher. True to its name, this small, agile bird spent much of its time darting out from a perch to catch insects mid-air before returning to the same spot. Watching its precise, graceful movements up close was a real treat, and I managed to capture a few photographs along the way.

Spotted Flycatchers are only present in the UK briefly during their migration, which makes each encounter feel extra special. Spending time with this little visitor today was a reminder of the unique moments wildlife can offer during a simple walk in nature. Observations like these are part of what makes Warnham Local Nature Reserve such a rewarding place for wildlife enthusiasts and photographers alike.

If you’re visiting Warnham, keep your eyes open for these fleeting yet captivating birds—you never know what you might spot!
