Egyptian Goose Taking Off at Warnham Local Nature Reserve

Welcome to my wildlife photography journal! Warnham Local Nature Reserve is one of my favourite places to spend time photographing wildlife, and my visit on 26th July 2026 provided another enjoyable opportunity to capture some action.

I spent some time photographing an Egyptian Goose as it prepared to take off from the water. The moment it lifted into the air was over in an instant, but I was able to capture a sequence showing the bird with its wings spread wide and water splashing beneath it. These take-off moments are always exciting to photograph, as there is so much movement happening in such a short space of time.

Capturing a sequence of images can really help tell the story of the action, from the initial movement across the water to the moment the bird becomes airborne. It also makes photographing wildlife behaviour particularly rewarding, as you never quite know which frame will capture the perfect combination of movement, posture and water spray.

Another enjoyable session at Warnham Local Nature Reserve, with plenty of opportunities to watch the wildlife and capture some of those fleeting moments that make wildlife photography so enjoyable.

Thanks for reading! Be sure to explore my other wildlife adventures and photography from Warnham Local Nature Reserve and beyond. Every visit brings something new, and I look forward to sharing more moments from the field soon.
