A Morning at Ifield Millpond: Wildlife in the Perfect Light

On the morning of 30th August 2025, I spent a few peaceful hours at Ifield Millpond, and it truly didn’t disappoint. The light was perfect, casting a warm glow across the water and highlighting the beauty of the local wildlife.

A Black-headed Gull soared gracefully across the sky, its wings catching the morning sunlight. Nearby, a Coot shimmered on the water, perfectly illuminated by the gentle light. The elegance of a Great Crested Grebe gliding by was mesmerizing, while a Mallard took off in a sudden burst of energy, adding a dynamic moment to the calm scene. To cap it off, a Moorhen dashed across the pond, leaving ripples that reflected the serenity and vitality of the area.

It’s mornings like these that remind me why I love Ifield Millpond — a place that is calm yet alive, peaceful yet full of surprises. Every visit offers new moments to capture and cherish, making it a favourite spot for anyone who enjoys wildlife photography or simply soaking in nature.

Whether you’re a photographer, birdwatcher, or just someone who appreciates nature, a morning at Ifield Millpond promises unforgettable sights and a sense of tranquility that’s hard to find elsewhere.
