A Perfect Day at Warnham Local Nature Reserve
I spent a delightful day at Warnham Local Nature Reserve on 24th August 2025, and the reserve was buzzing with life! The sun was shining, and the natural beauty of the area was at its peak, making it a perfect opportunity for wildlife photography and a peaceful stroll.
One of the highlights of the day was the Black-Eyed Susan brightening up the café area with its vibrant yellow petals. It’s always a treat to see these cheerful flowers in full bloom.
Around the ponds, dragonflies were actively patrolling the waters. The Common Darter and Migrant Hawker were particularly busy, their delicate wings catching the sunlight as they darted around. It was fascinating to observe these agile hunters in action.
Butterflies also added their touch of colour to the day. Large White and Small Copper butterflies flitted gracefully among the wildflowers, providing plenty of opportunities for photography.
Another gem of the day was spotting a Willow Emerald Damselfly, its iridescent green body shimmering in the sunlight. And, of course, a friendly Robin posed beautifully on one of the visitors’ posts, making for an adorable photo moment.
As I wandered the reserve, I even noticed a pair of wildlife companions basking together in the sunshine — a gentle reminder of the serene moments nature offers before the arrival of autumn.
Warnham Local Nature Reserve continues to be a fantastic spot for nature enthusiasts, photographers, and anyone looking to enjoy the calm beauty of UK wildlife. I’m already looking forward to my next visit!
