A Perfect Morning with the Kingfisher at Warnham Local Nature Reserve

On the 14th of September 2025, I spent a truly magical morning at Warnham Local Nature Reserve, and it was a day I won’t soon forget. The highlight? An incredible display from the Kingfisher, one of my favourite birds to observe and photograph.

Watching the Kingfisher in action is always a thrill. One moment, it was perched elegantly on a stick, perfectly still, and the next, it darted across the water with astonishing speed and precision. Capturing both the serene and energetic sides of this remarkable bird in a single session felt like winning a small but precious wildlife lottery.

It’s moments like these that remind me why I love spending time at Warnham. Every visit holds the promise of something unexpected — whether it’s a fleeting glimpse of a bird in flight or a peaceful encounter by the water’s edge. The reserve never fails to inspire, and the rewards of patience and keen observation are always worth it.

For wildlife photographers and nature lovers alike, Warnham Local Nature Reserve is a place where calm and chaos coexist beautifully, and where every visit can bring a new story to capture.
