Great Crested Grebe with a Carp at Warnham Local Nature Reserve

Welcome to my wildlife photography journal! Warnham Local Nature Reserve delivered a truly memorable moment on 9th November 2025.

I was lucky enough to watch — and photograph — a Great Crested Grebe after it had caught a huge carp. Seeing a bird of this size wrestling with such an impressive fish really highlights just how skilled and determined these grebes are beneath the surface. Moments like this showcase the incredible power, focus, and resilience of wildlife in action.

Encounters like these are exactly why I keep returning to Warnham — you never quite know what you’re going to witness, but when it happens, it’s unforgettable.

Thanks for reading, and feel free to explore more wildlife moments from Warnham Local Nature Reserve and beyond.
