Siskins at Warnham Local Nature Reserve – A Winter Morning

Welcome to my wildlife photography journal! Warnham Local Nature Reserve is always a rewarding place to visit, and on 14th February 2026 it offered a quiet but beautiful winter morning filled with subtle bird activity and seasonal charm.

During the visit, I was fortunate enough to spot both a male and female Siskin moving through the branches. Their delicate, agile movements made them a pleasure to observe, flitting between twigs as they searched for food. The fine detail in their plumage stood out beautifully in the winter light, with the male’s brighter tones contrasting gently against the more subdued colouring of the female.

Even on a calm and relatively quiet winter’s day, nature continues to deliver moments of interest and beauty. It’s encounters like these that make time spent in the field so rewarding, no matter the season.

Thanks for reading! Be sure to explore my other wildlife adventures and photography from nature reserves and beyond. Every visit brings something new, and I look forward to sharing more moments soon.
