Common Terns at Warnham Local Nature Reserve

Welcome to my wildlife photography journal! Warnham Local Nature Reserve is one of my favourite places to spend time photographing wildlife, and every visit brings the opportunity to capture something special. On 14th June 2026, I spent time watching and photographing the Common Terns that were visiting the reserve, enjoying the chance to observe these elegant birds at close range.

The Common Terns provided some fantastic photographic opportunities throughout the visit. At quieter moments, they could be seen perched on branches, carefully preening and maintaining their feathers, while at other times they showed their true character as they moved gracefully across the water in flight.

Capturing birds like Common Terns is always about patience and observation — waiting for those brief moments when behaviour, light, and movement come together. Whether resting peacefully or sweeping across the water, these beautiful birds offer a wonderful reminder of the variety of wildlife that can be found at Warnham Local Nature Reserve.

It is always rewarding to spend time with these birds and capture not only their beauty but also their behaviour and personality through photography. Visits like this are what make returning to the reserve so enjoyable, as there is always another wildlife moment waiting to be discovered.
