Kingfisher in Flight at Warnham Local Nature Reserve
Welcome to my wildlife photography journal! On 26th July 2026, I spent some time at Warnham Local Nature Reserve photographing one of my favourite subjects — the Kingfisher. These striking birds are always a pleasure to watch, and every encounter provides the possibility of capturing something a little different.
Capturing a Kingfisher in flight is always a challenge. Their speed and rapid changes of direction leave very little room for error, making timing and focus particularly important when trying to freeze the action. When everything comes together, however, the results can be incredibly rewarding. The combination of their vivid blue and orange plumage, speed, and movement makes them one of the most fascinating birds to photograph.
Warnham Local Nature Reserve continues to provide some fantastic opportunities for wildlife photography, and spending time with the Kingfisher is always a highlight. It’s the sort of session where patience can pay off with those special moments that make all the effort behind the camera worthwhile.
Another enjoyable visit to Warnham Local Nature Reserve, with some great opportunities to photograph this beautiful bird and capture a little of the speed and character that makes the Kingfisher such a favourite subject.
