Little Grebe Fishing at Warnham Local Nature Reserve

Welcome to my wildlife photography journal! Warnham Local Nature Reserve is always a rewarding place to spend time with the camera, and on 26th July 2026 I spent some time photographing a Little Grebe. These small waterbirds can be easy to overlook, but watching their behaviour closely often reveals some fascinating moments.

This Little Grebe was busy looking down into the water as it searched for its next meal, giving me several lovely opportunities to capture its fishing behaviour. I particularly enjoy watching these small waterbirds as they go about their daily routines, especially when they begin concentrating on the water and preparing to dive. Trying to anticipate the exact moment they disappear beneath the surface makes photographing them an enjoyable challenge.

It is often these quieter encounters that make a visit to Warnham Local Nature Reserve so rewarding. Taking the time to watch a bird's behaviour can provide some great photographic opportunities, while also giving a glimpse into the everyday lives of the wildlife living around the reserve's ponds and wetlands.

Another enjoyable session at Warnham Local Nature Reserve, with plenty of opportunities to observe and photograph the wildlife. Every visit offers something different, and there is always another moment waiting to be captured.

Thanks for reading! Be sure to explore my other wildlife adventures and photography from Warnham Local Nature Reserve and beyond. Every visit brings something new, and I look forward to sharing more moments from the field soon.
