A Brief Encounter with a Long-Tailed Tit at Warnham Local Nature Reserve
A visit to Warnham Local Nature Reserve on 6th December 2025 brought a lovely, fleeting encounter with one of my favourite small woodland birds — the long-tailed tit.
The bird moved constantly between branches, rarely pausing for more than a second or two. Despite its restlessness, it showed plenty of character as it worked its way through the trees, offering brief but rewarding opportunities to observe and photograph it in its natural setting.
Long-tailed tits may be small and delicate, but they have an unmistakable presence, full of charm and personality. Encounters like this are especially enjoyable on quiet winter days, when the reserve feels calmer and moments with wildlife feel more personal and unhurried.
Warnham continues to be a place where even the briefest sightings can become memorable, reminding me that patience and attention often lead to the most satisfying moments in wildlife photography.
