A Morning with Willow Emerald Damselflies at Warnham Local Nature Reserve
On the 10th of August, I had the pleasure of spending a serene morning at Warnham Local Nature Reserve, observing the delicate Willow Emerald Damselflies. These tiny, jewel-like insects are a true highlight of the reserve during the late summer months.
Their shimmering green wings caught the sunlight beautifully, reflecting a soft, iridescent glow as they perched gracefully on the reeds. Watching their subtle movements was fascinating—the way they flicked from stem to stem, like tiny flashes of emerald amidst the greenery, was simply mesmerizing.
During my visit, I captured several photographs that showcase the elegance and intricate details of these remarkable damselflies. Each shot highlights the vibrancy of their colours and the fragile beauty of their wings, making them a joy to photograph.
Spending a morning with these enchanting creatures was a peaceful and inspiring experience, reminding me of the delicate wonders that thrive within Warnham Local Nature Reserve. For anyone interested in wildlife photography or nature observation, the Willow Emerald Damselfly is a must-see, offering both charm and challenge for photographers.
