Great Crested Grebe Sprinting Across the Water at Warnham

Welcome to my wildlife photography journal! Warnham Local Nature Reserve delivered an unforgettable moment on 1st November 2025, and it was easily one of the highlights of the morning.

I was lucky enough to capture a full sequence of a Great Crested Grebe sprinting across the water’s surface. It all happened incredibly fast — a sudden burst of energy, spray kicking up behind it, and an elegant sense of movement that only lasts a few seconds. Watching it unfold was just as exciting as photographing it.

Moments like this are a reminder of how dynamic and powerful wildlife can be, even in brief flashes of action. I’m sharing the full sequence here and hope you enjoy the energy of the moment as much as I did.

Thanks for reading, and feel free to explore more wildlife moments from Warnham Local Nature Reserve and beyond.
