Mallard Duck at Warnham Local Nature Reserve
Welcome to my wildlife photography journal! Warnham Local Nature Reserve is always full of delightful and often amusing wildlife moments, and the morning of 28th September 2025 offered a particularly charming scene.
I captured a Mallard Duck feeding upside down — that classic pose that never fails to make me smile. In post-processing, I decided to experiment with the image, turning the water black and adding a soft sunset glow. The transformation was striking: golden ripples set against the dark water created a calm, almost painterly atmosphere, giving new life to a familiar moment in nature.
Moments like these show how a simple behavioural shot, paired with a touch of creative vision, can convey a whole new mood and highlight the beauty of the natural world.
Thanks for reading! Be sure to explore my other wildlife adventures and photography from Warnham Local Nature Reserve and beyond. Every visit brings something new, and I look forward to sharing more moments soon.
