Winter Birdlife at Warnham Local Nature Reserve

I spent some time at Warnham Local Nature Reserve on 6th December 2025 and was lucky enough to capture a series of beautiful moments with the local birdlife.

The morning brought a lovely mix of species, including a colourful chaffinch, an energetic coal tit, and a striking goldfinch moving through the branches. I was also pleased to photograph a great spotted woodpecker, whose bold markings and purposeful movements always make for a rewarding subject.

Each encounter offered something slightly different — subtle behaviour, flashes of colour, and those brief pauses that make wildlife photography so satisfying. It’s a reminder that when you slow down and take the time to watch, nature quietly puts on a show of its own.

Warnham continues to deliver these small but memorable moments, especially during the quieter winter months, making every visit feel worthwhile.
