Winter Woodland Birds at Warnham Local Nature Reserve

I spent some time at Warnham Local Nature Reserve on 6th December 2025 and was lucky to capture a few wonderful moments with the local birdlife.

The session brought a great mix of species and personalities. A lively great tit moved confidently between branches, while a vibrant greenfinch added a splash of colour to the winter scene. I also spent time watching a shy dunnock quietly foraging, its subtle markings easy to overlook if you’re not paying close attention. A curious marsh tit rounded off the visit, pausing just long enough to offer a rewarding photographic moment.

Encounters like these really highlight the value of slowing down and observing the smaller details. Each bird brings its own character, and together they create a rich and varied picture of life at the reserve, even in the colder months.

Warnham continues to be a place where patience is rewarded, offering quiet but memorable moments with wildlife in its natural setting.
