Winter Birdlife at Warnham Local Nature Reserve

I spent some time at Warnham Local Nature Reserve on 7th December 2025 and was lucky to capture a few beautiful moments with a lovely mix of birdlife across the reserve.

A lively siskin flitted through the trees, rarely pausing as it moved between branches, while a tiny wren hopped quietly through the undergrowth, full of energy despite its size. Nearby, a Stock Dove perched peacefully, offering a calm contrast to the constant movement around it.

Out on the water, a Mandarin Duck glided gracefully across the surface, its striking colours standing out beautifully against the softer winter tones. Watching it move so effortlessly through the lake was a real highlight of the visit.

Moments like these are a reminder of just how much variety Warnham offers, even in winter. Slowing down and taking the time to observe reveals a richness of wildlife that makes every visit feel rewarding and memorable.
