Little Grebe at Warnham Local Nature Reserve

Welcome to my wildlife photography journal! Warnham Local Nature Reserve is one of my favourite places to spend time observing and photographing wildlife, with every visit offering the chance to discover something new. On 5th June 2026, I spent some time watching one of our smallest and most fascinating waterbirds — the Little Grebe.

These tiny divers are always entertaining to watch, constantly disappearing beneath the surface before reappearing moments later in a completely unexpected spot. Their behaviour makes them a fascinating subject to photograph, but capturing the perfect moment takes patience, careful observation, and a little bit of luck. Watching them quietly go about their day in the peaceful surroundings of the reserve was a real pleasure.

Warnham Local Nature Reserve continues to be a fantastic location for wildlife photography, offering a wonderful variety of habitats and species throughout the year. Seeing birds like the Little Grebe thriving here is a reminder of the importance of protecting these special places for both wildlife and future generations.
