Mute Swans in Flight at RSPB Pulborough Brooks
Welcome to my wildlife photography journal! RSPB Pulborough Brooks is a fantastic location for observing a wide variety of birds, with every visit offering the chance to witness something special. During my visit on 21st March 2026, I was treated to a wonderful moment as a group of Mute Swans took to the air.
There is something truly impressive about watching these large and graceful birds leave the water and lift into flight. Despite their size, they move with surprising elegance, powerful wingbeats carrying them effortlessly across the landscape before they settle into a smooth glide. Capturing a sequence of them in flight was a real privilege, showing their impressive wingspan and the beauty of their movement.
Moments like this are a great reminder that wildlife photography is often about being ready for the unexpected. A quiet scene can suddenly transform into something memorable, and keeping an eye on the skies at places like RSPB Pulborough Brooks can often reward you with incredible displays of natural behaviour.
Thanks for reading! Be sure to explore my other wildlife adventures and photography from RSPB Pulborough Brooks and beyond. Every visit brings new opportunities, and I look forward to sharing more moments from the field soon.
