Wildlife Activity Around Ifield Mill Pond – Birds in Flight and Spring Moments
Welcome to my wildlife photography journal! Ifield Mill Pond is always a rewarding location to visit, offering a great mix of birdlife and opportunities to capture natural behaviour around the water. On 26th April 2026, I spent some time exploring the area and photographing the variety of wildlife activity taking place around the pond.
The session provided some excellent opportunities to capture birds in motion, with Canada Geese seen taking flight while their goslings moved carefully along the water’s edge. Watching family groups like this is always a highlight of spring, as young birds begin exploring their surroundings under the watchful attention of their parents.
The Mallard ducklings were also active close to the shoreline, providing some lovely moments as they moved through the shallows. A Moorhen added further variety to the visit, captured in flight as it moved across the pond, creating a great sense of movement and energy in the images. A Wood Pigeon in flight completed the collection, offering a different style of movement and adding another species to the morning’s photography.
Although it was a simple visit, it was a productive one, proving that even short sessions at familiar locations can reveal plenty of interesting wildlife behaviour. Ifield Mill Pond continues to be a fantastic place to observe and photograph the everyday moments that make local wildlife so special.
Thanks for reading! Be sure to explore my other wildlife adventures and photography from Ifield Mill Pond and beyond. Every visit brings something new, and I look forward to sharing more moments from the field soon.
